A thread on links between the two countries of Switzerland and Ireland and thought connected to them both.
I know St Gallen, a city in Switzerland, is named after St Gall an Irish saint and I think near the Cathedral you can visit some ancient manuscripts made by Irish monks.
James Joyce emigrated to Switzerland and lived in Zurich. There is a James Joyce centre in the city which is run by an enthusiastic James Joyce scholar who makes the person and works of James Joyce felt in the intellectual culture of the city.
