I would like to see the Irish people represent Ireland as being an island nation. I would like to see government policy being put in place to favour maritime enterprises, amongst non-government initiatives, so that we would see and feel ourselves as being an island nation. In addition, I think a devolved Ireland would help to bring about a multi-centred, maritime included, vision of Ireland. This thread is for anything to do with the seas, and ocean that surround our dear country.

One thing we could promote is basing our main port in Ringaskiddy in Cork, as it can hold greater ships than Dublin can and I think is one of the biggest natural harbours in the world. Foynes would also be a good option for a second port. Obviously infrastructure would need to be improved in both places.
